Fourteen beams lit the Montreal sky on Sunday evening in memory of the 14 women killed on December 6, 1989, at the École Polytechnique, the worst mass murder in Canadian history. Hundreds of people attended the ceremony in Montreal and observed a minute of silence.

One by one, at the sound of the victims’ names, the light beams were projected in the sky above Mont-Royal, forming a beautiful arc of lights.
